In addition, some Pinnacle products like the MovieBox Ultimate and Studio Movie Box could do this, and they are on eBay (though not all Pinnacle Movie Boxes have Firewire inputs). A company called Pixela made one (there's also a PAL version). They were not full USB to Firewire adapters, but could transfer DV from a Firewire camerato a high speed USB port (meaning 480MBPS USB 2.0) on a computer. There were actually USB adapters for miniDV cameras once upon a time, but none are currently in production. You can use the USB port to transfer data from the card to a computer, but not from a tape (and a modern OS would probably recognize the camera as a USB mass storage device without a driver, but that wasn't the case with 2000 and OG Windows XP). Like many MiniDV cameras, this has an SD card slot (given the camera's age, with a maximum capacity of 2GB) to record stills and lower quality video. Unfortunately you cannot transfer video from a tape via the USB port on the camera. It should include a list of the parts that were in the box, including the cable, along with their part numbers. If you're having trouble finding the cable, find the manual for the camera (it's probably online if you can't find the paper copy). It looks like you already have the USB analog-to-digital converter, so you need whatever A/V breakout cable the camera came with and the power adapter. You can use the analog outputs to get video off the tapes but the quality will be degraded. You can also see if anyone you know has an old computer with IEEE1394 sitting around somewhere that you can borrow. If you have a Windows laptop with an Express Card slot you can get cards that add IEEE1394 ports, but Express Card slots are rare in modern laptops. If you have a desktop PC with a free PCI slot, you can get an expansion card to add IEEE1394 ports. If you have a Mac or PC with a Thunderbolt port, you can get a Thunderbolt to Firewire adapter cable from Apple. Since your computer probably doesn't have one, you need to get one. If your computer has one, get the appropriate cable and you're all set (your camera has a 4-pin Firewire port, most computers use the 6-pin.). To get video off the tapes in the best quality, you need to use the Firewire/IEEE1394 port, labeled DV on your camera, which connects to a IEEE1394 port on your computer. You can find cheap USB to Firewire cables and plug adapters for sale but these will not work I honestly don't know what they're for. USB and Firewire are totally different protocols and you cannot connect the two with a simple cable or adapter.
